John,
Last night, our already traumatized nation watched again, as news broke of another mass shooting – this time at an elementary school. A shooter killed at least 19 children and two adults and forever changed the Uvalde, TX community.
Elementary school children have once again been massacred because our country has refused to address the nation’s gun violence epidemic.
If you’re ready to take action like we are, will you add your name to our rapid-response petition to demand the Senate finally expand and strengthen Brady background checks? It’s exactly the move we need to prevent more tragedy.
|
We’re already hearing the chorus of pundits saying this tragedy is unimaginable or incomprehensible, but here’s the sad truth, John: Tragedies like this are far too comprehensible in our country – it’s our norm. And we’re the only country where this violence is normal.
We are outraged and devastated – and we know we’re not alone in this, John. The majority of Americans support expanded background checks, yet gun lobby-bought politicians, like Ted Cruz and Gregg Abbott in Texas, have refused to act in the interest of our lives – of our children’s lives.
|
That’s why we’re reaching out to you today. In times like this, we need every person, every voice, to join us in the movement to demand tangible change in our country. So we’re calling on 10,000 concerned Americans like you to demand the Senate expand and strengthen Brady background checks and take action to curb America’s deadly gun violence epidemic – but we’re still missing your name from our rapid-response petition.
