Our hearts are broken, once again, as our nation mourns the innocent victims of the horrific mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. Our prayers are with the families of the little children who were killed, the first responders, and the entire community of Uvalde.

Our words are inadequate to capture the agony of the families that have had their precious babies stolen from them – we must honor their pain and senseless loss with our actions to save lives in their name. Enough.

Please join me and my CA colleague, Congressman Mike Thompson, Chair of the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force and a co-author of the House-passed gun background checks bills that we must push through the Senate.

We are looking forward to a frank discussion about what must be done to protect America’s children and our communities from this uniquely American plague of gun violence.
