Dear John,
We’ve achieved a lot these last few months: twenty town halls, six local democratic meetings, local Indivisible Group meetings, candidate forums, climate strikes. We’ve traveled over 7,000 miles to meet Maine voters where they’re at. But now we’re facing an urgent end of month deadline, and we need your help to keep our people-powered campaign running.
John, we need a candidate in Maine fighting for Medicare For All, the Green New Deal, or eliminating student debt. Can you help keep us in this race?
We don’t need a million dollars to win. We don’t think campaigns should cost that much money. But we do need thousands of Mainers like you to give $5, $10, or $20 when they can so we can keep our offices open and keep me on the road talking to voters.
Huge donors, greedy corporations, super PACs and lobbyists are pouring millions of dollars into this race to try to silence the voice of Mainers and buy the election.
I refuse to take a cent of it. By rejecting money from super PACs and corporate special interests, our campaign is only beholden to you. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

That’s what our movement is about, John. It’s about standing together with our friends and neighbors and sending a message to Washington that we will not hand over our democracy without a fight.
Thank you for everything you have done so far. From the bottom of my heart, I am so grateful.
In solidarity,
Betsy Sweet
