Dear John,

This weekend is Memorial Day. I’m writing to share with you remarks I made on the floor of the United States Senate to remember the brave Michigan residents who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.  

This Memorial Day and every day, let’s show our unwavering gratitude to those who lost their lives fighting for our country. Let’s support their families and honor their heroic sacrifice. 

For those of you who have served, thank you. For everyone else, thanks for everything you do to honor them – on Memorial Day and every day.
