John — Just when we thought Lauren’s ultra-MAGA Republican opponents couldn’t say anything more unhinged, their comments during an online forum last week proved us wrong:

• James Marter said there was “massive fraud” during the 2020 election and called the results “illegitimate” — continuing to peddle Donald Trump’s Big Lie that the election was somehow stolen from him.


• All five opponents criticized the Congressional committee investigating last year's deadly attack on the U.S. Capitol that Trump incited — with Michael Koolidge even calling the investigation a waste of time.


• Scott Gryder disagreed with scientists and said warnings about climate change were “overblown.”


• All five opponents said they would support the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, with Marter and Gryder even supporting a federal abortion ban which would make abortion illegal in every state.

It’s crystal clear that these candidates don’t reflect the values of our district. Not only that, but if one of our opponents actually wins and helps the GOP reclaim the House majority, their refusal to accept the results of the 2020 election and their downplaying of the Capitol riot would pose a grave threat to our democracy.

It’s more important than ever that we keep this seat out of their hands. But with the June primary just five weeks away, we know this is only just the beginning.
