Hi John,
The moment so many have been shouting about for years is here: The Supreme Court is about to overturn Roe v. Wade.
This isn't a surprise. Republicans have been angling for this reversal for
decades. They've challenged Roe for years by intentionally passing extreme laws in order to get in front of the Supreme Court. They’ve organized their base around it, and they’ve funded state and local candidates who made abortion inaccessible long before GOP-appointed judges criminalized it.
They spent decades building the deep and widespread power to undo Roe — we can do the same thing to secure abortion rights. Not just at the Supreme Court or the halls of Congress or "swing states" but in every state, every county, every city, every town, and every village.
Now, more than ever, we need pro-choice leaders stepping up to run for local offices willing to do whatever they can to protect and expand reproductive rights.
We're hosting a FREE event to answer all your questions and get you (yes, John, you) ready to Run for Roe. Join us on June 1st at 8 p.m. ET!
We'll be joined by some BIG NAMES to discuss why abortion rights matter, how their offices will play a crucial role in protecting those rights for all Americans, and, of course, answer all your questions about running on a reproductive rights platform.
We're excited to be joined by:
- Former President of Planned Parenthood and activist Cecile Richards
- Florida state Representative Anna Eskamani
- Rhode Island state Senator Tiara Mack
- Candidate for Texas state Representative Becca Moyer DeFelice
- Washtenaw County Prosecutor Eli Savit
The power to protect or strip away our reproductive freedom is now in the hands of state and local officials.
From prosecutors who will not prosecute patients and doctors, to state legislators and city officials who can make it easier for abortion clinics to operate in their jurisdiction, to school board officials who make sure their students receive accurate, comprehensive sex education — it is up to our state and local representatives to make sure we have control over our own bodies.
If we're going to protect abortion care, birth control, and our freedom, then we need elected officials who understand the importance of reproductive justice in office. We need you! So, if you're ready to Run for Roe, we'll see you on June 1st at 8 p.m. ET.
Let's do this,
