But, this agenda stalled in the U.S. Senate late last year due to two conservative Democrats who were unwilling to make the investments our families and communities desperately need.

Last week, our Rooted in Community Leadership PAC supported Summer Lee for Congress in her narrow primary victory in Pennsylvania. If elected in November, Lee will be the first Black woman to represent Pennsylvania in Congress.
Our support allowed Lee’s campaign to contact likely supporters on Election Day in a race that was decided by just 740 votes.1

Today, there are primaries in Georgia, Texas, and more, where progressive candidates are taking on conservative Democrats who are holding us back from enacting the promises we made to voters. From abortion rights to inflation, we must enact a progressive agenda to support working families and marginalized communities.
This year, rising prices are forcing the average household to spend an extra $327 each month due to inflation.2 But, if the Senate had passed the expanded Child Tax Credit, which last year was providing families with between $250 - $300 per child each month, we’d be helping families cope with rising prices right now.
