It’s former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords – I want to take a moment to talk to you about my friend Chris Pappas.

But first, I'll tell you a bit about my story.

Eleven years ago, I survived a mass shooting at a constituent event in my hometown. On what began as another typical Saturday in Tucson, six of my constituents were killed, 12 were injured, and I was shot in the head. Since then, I have dedicated my life to fighting gun violence nationwide – because gun violence shouldn't be a common American experience.

That's why I'm reaching out to share why it's so crucial that we reelect my ally Chris Pappas.

Chris understands how important it is to keep our families, friends, and communities safe from gun violence. In 2021, Chris voted to pass the Bipartisan Background Checks Act and has remained a fervent supporter of common-sense gun legislation that closes loopholes in the background check system.
