John,
In times like this, we as a community look for the right words to bring forth healing and also describe the severity of what transpired in Buffalo, New York.
Our hearts are broken for the people in Buffalo, and now more than ever, we must not lose our voices about the racism that runs deep in this nation.
Make no mistake — what we saw a few days ago was the result of white supremacist violence.
White supremacy continues to choke the potential and promise of our country. Every day that goes by, elected officials who proclaim themselves as “leaders” continue to turn a blind eye to violence against Black people.
To our Black Mothers, Fathers, Daughters, Sons, Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents, and caregivers suffering from lives that have been stolen in this act of deep hate, you will
never be alone. We send our love and condolences to you. We’re sending love to all of Buffalo.
If one thing's for sure – it's that we have to confront white supremacy directly to end it once and for all.
John – you can make an impact right now by donating to one of the GoFundMe verified fundraisers to help the individuals and families directly affected by the Buffalo mass shooting. Funds will go directly to the GoFundMe fundraiser of your choosing.
In love and solidarity,
Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation
