Oswego's beloved holiday tradition returns this Friday, Dec.6 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. to ring in the holiday season with a tree-lighting, Santa, a silent illuminated parade and more, all on Main Street! Join in on the fun!
The Silent Illuminated Parade comes down Main Street at 8 p.m.

The 2019 Oswego Christmas Walk presented by Allied First Bank will be held from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, throughout downtown Oswego, with festive fun and time-honored traditions for all ages.
Main Street festivities begin at 5 p.m. Go skating on the faux ice rink, meet a live reindeer, watch an ice sculptor, slide down the inflatable sled hill, take a ride on the Toyland train, and much more -- all for free! Plus, dozens of local Oswego organizations will offer games, crafts, giveaways, and prizes, and food from a dozen vendors will be for sale all night! Hear live music at the Oswego Public Library, play a game of Christmas Goose Chase at the Little White School House and more. This year’s Christmas Walk features more than 80 festive stops to see, hear, taste, and wonder at all the magic the season has to offer.
Help Cindy Lou Who and Village President Troy Parlier save Christmas Walk from the Grinch and usher in the holiday season with a Suessian twist on the traditional tree-lighting ceremony. The tree-lighting begins at 5:30 p.m. at the corner of Main and Jackson Streets and features live choral music from Bednarcik and Traughber Junior Highs. Plus, catch live entertainment from Oswego’s dance troupes and choirs at four different entertainment spots throughout the event.
Then, bring your wish list and visit Santa at his new North Pole home away from home, Fox River Academy of Music and Art, 26 W. Van Buren Street, adjacent to the trolley stop. Santa’s talented helpers from Locked In Photography will take photos that will be made available following the event.
And at 8 p.m., make way for the silent, illuminated fire truck parade brought to you by the Oswego Fire Protection District and featuring your favorite holiday characters, including Christmas Tree Rex himself, down Main Street!
** Skip traffic. Take the Trolley!

Parking is limited in downtown Oswego this year. Avoid the congestion and ride the trolley with some of your favorite Christmas Walk characters.
Four trolleys will operate a shuttle service from Oswego High School (north lot -- football stadium side), to Symphony at The Tillers, to the corner of Main and Van Buren Streets. The trolley service is free, thanks to the generous sponsorship of Shodeen, Symphony at The Tillers, and Hennessey's River View Ford, and will run on a continuous loop from 3:45 to 9:30 p.m.
Handicapped parking is available adjacent to the Christmas Walk at the Oswego Public Library, 32 Jefferson Street.
