Lineage Logistics makes CNBC's Disruptor 50 list again | Wilbur-Ellis to use Ford F-150 Lightning trucks in Calif. | 9 distributors account for most of recent startup deals
For a second straight year, Lineage Logistics, based in Novi, Mich., is featured on CNBC's Disruptor 50 list, which highlights companies positioned to meet new economic and consumer challenges. CNBC notes that Lineage's business model could play a crucial role in transforming food supply chains.

Wilbur-Ellis has purchased 10 Ford F-150 Lightning electric pickup trucks, which it will use at two agricultural sites in California. President and CEO John Buckley says the company will eventually buy additional electric vehicles for use in the Midwest and other regions.
Nine distributors have accounted for about 60% of the 49 investment and acquisition deals in startups during the past five years, while 17 distributors have accounted for remaining, says Applico CEO Alex Moazed, who adds that most of the deals are either in construction and building or IT and electronics. "The large majority of all these deals were to look at providing tools and products and capabilities to the customer channel," Moazed says.
