John — did you see this?
At a recent event, former President Bush accidentally referred to the invasion of Iraq as “unjustified and brutal” while referencing Ukraine.
He tried correcting himself before acknowledging “Iraq too.”
I couldn’t believe it, John.
The Iraq War was the defining political event of my early life. I was in college at the time, but I’ll never forget the outrage I felt.
I remember seeing us go to war and feeling “this can't be happening. How can we be doing something so terrible?” There was so much energy behind stopping the war, and yet it seemed there was nothing we could do.
Today, a majority of Americans agree that the Iraq War was a mistake. Over 4,400 American service members and 200,000 Iraqi civilians lost their lives in the conflict. We can’t allow this to happen again.
When I’m in office, I promise to support our troops by not sending them into harm's way unless absolutely necessary.
But right now, I’m running against a crowd of hawkish Republicans — including a multi-millionaire defense contractor! We can’t allow history to repeat itself so I’m asking for your support.
I’ll always stand up against unjust military force and put our service members first, John. Could you please support our campaign with a $5, $10, or $25 donation?
Thank you, John.
