Our fair redistricting movement is still securing pivotal wins ahead of the midterm elections. We’ve recently seen the power of our state-by-state strategy on full display with a critical decision from Florida striking down part of Governor Ron DeSantis’ unconstitutionally gerrymandered congressional map.
Though we have real momentum, our work is far from over. We know that the battle over 2022 maps is still unfolding in states like Florida where DeSantis is still fighting to preserve his preferred map as demonstrated by another court decision on Friday that has reinstated his map for now.
And we can’t rest when the midterms are over either. We know Republican operatives now view redistricting as an every-cycle fight, and we can't afford to let their plans to manipulate the playing field go unchallenged.
