The Choice Agenda: A new global forum for advocacy

May 24, 2022

Dear Advocate,

We are delighted to announce the launch of a new global forum for advocacy on the latest in HIV prevention research, The Choice Agenda! Led by long-time advocate and AVAC partner, Jim Pickett, this new forum consists of monthly webinars and a highly active, moderated listserv to explore, discuss and debate the hottest HIV prevention research topics, including implementation.

Learn more about the Choice Agenda, sign up for the listserv, and register for upcoming webinars at www.avac.org/choice-agenda.

Plus, mark your calendars for the first Choice Agenda webinar on Wednesday, June 15 at 10am US Eastern time: Efficacy is Not the Only HIV Prevention Attribute that Matters — Lessons from Contraception with Dominika Seidman, University of California San Francisco. Register here and click here for the time in your specific location.

Evidence-based advocacy and informed decision-making are essential to effective HIV prevention, from research to rollout. The Choice Agenda is a new opportunity to dive into the science and the issues, share community perspectives, and develop advocacy for innovative, user-centered prevention options that are developed ethically and delivered equitably. Members are encouraged to share their opinions and concerns, and to reach out with ideas about webinar content and speakers.

And don’t forget to join us for our HVAD webinar series this month to mark important milestones in HIV vaccine development, and discuss the path forward – including the next in the series today at 10am ET on the innovation in trial designs and the potential for experimental medicine vaccine trials in the current research environment.

All the best,
AVAC
