Ward 5, It's Your Decision!
Happy Monday Neighbors and Friends!
We are less than 30 days away from the close of the Democratic Primary election. Neighbors will begin taking their ballots to drop boxes this Friday, May 27th; early in-person voting will start on Friday, June 10th, and by the end of election day on June 21st, we may have a decision on this race.
Will you be one of the decision-makers, or will you let others decide for you?
I am running because I believe in the power of our community; our power to be heard and to direct our government to make the changes that will make our communities and our everyday lives better. I believe in our power to identify the issues that are important to us and to share our lived experiences and knowledge to get to lasting solutions. I have dedicated my adult life to serving my community, with a record of proven results. Countless community and elected leaders have vouched for me because they have been in the trenches doing the work with me.
As your Ward 5 representative, I will work hard to bring our neighbors' voices into government decision-making, and I will bring our Government and its resources to our neighborhoods.
We have a duty to our families, neighbors and communities to exercise our right to vote; to elect the people who will represent our best interests, and who will positively impact our city's long-term progress.
I am asking for your vote. Whether or not you vote for me, please vote. Too often, the interests of the loudest outweigh the interests of the majority. This election season, make a plan to be heard and to be among the decision-makers.
Here are our voting options: (It's not too late to register to vote!)
1. Use the ballot delivered in the mail - drop it off at a designated ballot box starting on Friday, May 27th
2. Vote early in-person June 10th - 19th early vote locations
3. Vote on election day on June 21st - at any of the voting centers in the ward.
Once you have made your voting plan, talk with your family members and neighbors about their plans; go together to drop off ballots or to the voting booths. In this close election, your vote could be the deciding vote.
Ward 5, this is our time to shine. Elect the first woman and the most qualified person in the race to represent Ward 5 on the DC Council.
In partnership,
Faith Gibson Hubbard
