Nottingham is a dynamic and popular city which is in an area of high housing demand, with? a high percentage of privately rented housesmany of which are not adequately maintained. We are determined to continue to improve the private rented sector in Nottingham, to reduce anti-social behaviour and drive up housing conditions. The Council has been successful in attracting rogue landlord funding on 2 occasions and already has an additional licensing scheme in place.

This role will help support the Selective Licensing team by ensuring the efficient and effective administration of the licensing process. You will ensure licence applications are received, processed and ready for further decision making and issuing of documents to licence holders, ensuring compliance with legal processes.   • Clerical and administrative experience including the ability to record precise information including minutes of meetings.
  • The ability to work with a varying and busy workload and switch between tasks as and when required.
  • Experience in providing a service with a customer orientation involving taking telephone enquiries, message taking and personal contact with customers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all administrative tasks relating to the Fair Access Panel and Inclusion Team. You will provide advice and information to citizens, schools and other stakeholders; as well as establishing and monitoring systems for fair access and exclusions, including producing data and analysing trends. Based in Nottingham City Centre, you will be providing administrative support to the Inclusion Team, with links to all schools locally. You will play a vital role in championing and securing the best outcomes for vulnerable pupils across the City.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent communication skills, both orally, face to face and in writing
  • Commitment to securing inclusion for all vulnerable learners ensuring positive outcomes and safeguarding.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a varied team, using initiative, being supportive of others, and responding to own and colleagues? deadlines
  • Advanced ICT skills in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel etc.) and Outlook (Mapping software would be beneficial)
  • Knowledge of Local Authority?s statutory responsibilities relating to Fair Access and exclusions
