Josh Stein for Attorney General

Honestly, folks, the past few weeks have been a whirlwind. With all that’s going on, we haven’t been focused on the usual campaign stuff. And that’s okay!

In early May, Josh and his team secured more than $4 million from Intuit, the owner of TurboTax, for deceiving North Carolinians into paying for tax services that should have been free. (Approximately 139,000 North Carolinians who filed their federal taxes through TurboTax from 2016 to 2018 are eligible for restitution and will receive a direct payout of approximately $30 for each year they were deceived into paying for filing services.)

Josh has also been traveling throughout the state this month talking with local leaders about North Carolina’s $750 million share of the $26 billion opioid settlement agreement that he helped negotiate. These funds must be spent on evidence-based prevention, treatment, harm reduction and recovery services.

And recently, Josh announced that he reached an agreement with the United States Postal Service to ensure timely mail delivery in future elections. With the midterm elections approaching, Josh is continuing his successful efforts to protect the Postal Service and ensure North Carolinians’ votes are counted, whether they vote in person or by mail.

So as you can imagine, fundraising for our campaign has been on the back burner. And, again, that’s okay. Josh is focused on his number one priority: delivering progress for people across North Carolina.

But, it does leave us with a gap in our grassroots fundraising, and that’s why we really could use your help today. If you are able, can you chip in right now to help us close this gap in fundraising and stay on track to meet our May target?

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

So far this month, we’ve only raised about 40% of the donations we had at this point in April. That’s why we need to have a really big fundraising surge over the next week to ensure we don’t fall too far behind.

Team Stein has never let us down before. And we already have a lot to be proud of this month – Josh and his colleagues are hard at work for us.

Thank you for all you do,

Team Stein
