is a human right.

That’s why Cori is leading to make Medicare for All a reality for all of
our communities because universal health care is essential to our movement
to save Black lives.

As a nurse in St. Louis, Cori saw firsthand the stark inequities faced by
uninsured and under-insured folks. Every day, people are forced to ration
expensive medication like insulin, skip dialysis appointments, forgo
surgical procedures, or refuse medical care entirely — and this lack of
care falls disproportionately on Black and brown communities.

We deserve a health care system that prioritizes humanity over greed and
compassion over exploitation. That's why Cori and progressive leaders are
fighting to ensure Medicare for All becomes law.

Senator Bernie Sanders just reintroduced Medicare for All legislation in
the Senate, and we're joining with National Nurses United to call on the
Senate to take action NOW.

Thanks to our government's willingness to side with Big Pharma and
insurance industry profits over human health and life, people will
continue to fall ill and die of preventable illnesses. Unless we step up
and demand change.

Last month, Cori made history and chaired the first House Oversight
Committee hearing on Medicare for All — and the first Congressional
hearing on the policy since the start of the pandemic.

Big, bold, transformational ideas like Medicare for All can sometimes seem
really far away. But with leaders like Cori Bush in Congress, each day is
a step towards making those transformational policies a reality for all of
us.
