| | Support LGBTQ Families Day is coming! Wednesday, June 1, 2022, is the 17th annual LGBTQ Families Day, a time to celebrate the many families in every state and almost every county of the U.S. that have LGBTQ+ people in them. This event aims to raise awareness of the diversity, challenges, and joys of all LGBTQ families—found, formed, and chosen—who exist throughout our society. Since 2006, the day has engaged parents across the LGBTQ spectrum, parents of LGBTQ children, LGBTQ individuals, children of LGBTQ parents, and non-LGBTQ family members and allies. LGBTQ Families Day was developed by the award-winning LGBTQ-parenting site Mombian, and PFLAG National is a proud longtime sponsor, along with our friends at Family Equality, GLAAD, GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders (GLAD), and COLAGE. It's easy to participate, by: - Posting, tweeting, or sharing on any social media channel in celebration and support of LGBTQ families on June 1, 2022, and including the hashtag #LGBTQFamiliesDay.
- Following the hashtag #LGBTQFamiliesDay throughout the day and sharing the stories, images, and thoughts from other participants.
We've celebrated the parenting people, now--let's celebrate our families, on #LGBTQFamiliesDay! |

| | Advocacy Support the Global Respect Act (HR 3485) The Global Respect Act (HR 3485) would impose sanctions on foreign persons who are responsible for violations of internationally recognized human rights against LGBTQI individuals. The bill would also require the President to periodically report and update the names of such individuals. Ask your Senator to cosponsor the Global Respect Act (HR 3485) if they have not, and urge them to vote YES on this important bill. PFLAGers have always advocated for human dignity, safety, and equality for LGBTQ+ people around the world. Passing this bill would demonstrate our government’s commitment to protect community members in all nations and hold accountable those who violate human rights. Reach your elected officials today! |

| | Something to Talk About...Live! Celebrating LGBTQ+ History In An Era Of Censorship As the historical contributions of the LGBTQ+ community are being minimized many are looking for ways to educate themselves. Join us this Thursday, May 26th at 4:30 PM ET / 1:30 PM PT for Something To Talk About Live, where we will be discussing Chase DiBenedetto’s article in Mashable, “Want to know more about LGBTQ history? Follow these accounts.” with Eric Cervini, award-winning author, producer, and historian of LGBTQ+ politics. You can watch live on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
