Hi John — The Alliance’s work has expanded and evolved since our founding in 2013 following the Sandy Hook tragedy. Today, our mission is to end the gun violence crisis in all of our communities. That means fighting to stop devastating mass shootings like Buffalo as well as working to prevent the kind of gun violence that steals lives every day without making headlines–gun suicide, domestic violence, community violence, and more. Our approach to this work is comprehensive. We work to create gun safety policies and programs, ensure that existing gun laws are working like they should be, and share information about gun violence and its solutions. All this work is strengthened by our partnerships with community-based organizations like Community Passageways and RISE whose expertise and experience inform and improve our efforts.
At our 10th Annual Luncheon last month, we reflected on how our work has evolved and we shared this video. Today, we invite you to take a few minutes to watch it and join us in recommitting to the fight ahead. The last week has made it painfully clear how much we have left to do to create the safe, equitable future we deserve. We hope you will join us in pledging to fight for a safer future and consider making a gift to support our lifesaving work.
