John -
There are many important skills a County Attorney must have. At the top of that list is the ability to lead a strong, diverse team dedicated to justice.
I will run an office free of harassment and intimidation; an office where all attorneys and staff are encouraged to express their views and dissenting opinions without fear of retaliation; a workplace invested in the professional growth of its staff.
Those have been my leadership values as Majority Leader and will remain with me as Hennepin County Attorney. I am committed to working across agencies and maintaining good relationships with leaders across the county.
AFSCME Council 5 and Teamsters 320 -- the unions representing the prosecutors and the public defenders in our state -- have spoken. They have endorsed me as the next County Attorney because they know I respect workers.
I will continue to build trust with all of the employees in the office because I understand that building a strong team with diverse backgrounds is essential to justice. I look forward to bringing a fresh leadership style to the County Attorney’s office because leaders who cannot handle criticism cannot be successful.
Will you join us in condemning any acts of harassment or intimidation in the workplace? If so, add your name to this growing list!
Sincerely,
Ryan
