I ran for Survival last year, above the Mer de Glace, in the mountains near Chamonix, France. It was an early morning, the sun glinting off the snowy Alpine peaks. Ups and downs on mountain trails, along the valleys, appreciating the scenery and being surrounded by nature. It felt so good to be running in solidarity with tribes, with nature, and all humanity.Ā
It was a great experience to connect with people from across the world. Ultimately we do this for joy. We arenāt just slabs of meat, weāre people. With all the complications that brings. We need to stay light on our feet, mentally as well as physically - and running for Survival helped me do just that.Ā
This year, Iāll probably be in the UK, running through the streets of SW London and appreciating the grassy expanses of Richmond Park. It doesnāt matter where you are (or what sport you choose!), youāre all part of the global effort to ensure Indigenous Peoples continue to have a voice.Ā
It would be fantastic to see lots of people get involved with this again.Ā
Will you sign up to join me this weekend?
Together we can make a difference.Ā
Keith
