John,
In 2021, injuries at Amazon warehouses and logistics facilities in New York climbed 64%, according to a new report from the National Employment Law Project.
Over the last few years, board members of the nation’s second largest employer voted to approve hundreds of millions of dollars in executive pay while the company’s injury and turnover rates soared and management cracked down on historic unionization efforts in Alabama and Staten Island.
At Amazon’s annual shareholder meeting this Wednesday, we will say enough. Join me in calling for accountability at Amazon. [[link removed]]

As NYC Comptroller, I’ve joined with fellow institutional investors with a combined $5 billion in Amazon stock value to lead a campaign against the reelection of two Amazon board members responsible for oversight of workforce issues.
Instead of listening in good faith to workers' concerns and making changes, the company has doubled down on fighting workers organizing for a better workplace. And Amazon’s board members have let it happen.
It’s time for accountability at Amazon. I’ll be speaking at the annual shareholder meeting on Wednesday as part of our campaign to #DeliverAccountability by voting against key board members who oversee workforce issues at Amazon.

Workers on Staten Island have mobilized, winning a historic election this spring to become the first unionized Amazon warehouse. But they face an uphill battle to change the culture of a company that comes from the top.
Amazon needs to hear it from us: workers deserve a fair, safe, and sustainable workplace.
In solidarity,
Brad
