TAKE ACTION

Friend,

We live in a world of incredible material abundance, but we're running short on nature.

The Shenandoah Mountain area is one of the last undeveloped stretches of public land east of the Mississippi River and boasts some of the most spectacular, uninterrupted views in the Southern Appalachians.

Unfortunately, this pristine landscape is at risk from industrial development, such as mining and pipeline construction.

The Shenandoah Mountain Act would protect over 90,000 acres of this special place.1

Urge our U.S. senators to support this critical conservation measure today and help ensure that hikers, hunters, anglers and many others will be able to continue to enjoy this exceptional landscape for generations to come.

Every minute, America is losing two football fields worth of forest, meadow, grassland or wetland, leaving us with fewer untouched landscapes.2

We can't let the Shenandoah Mountain area be next.

The Shenandoah Mountain Act would preserve the majestic forests, spectacular vistas, and more than 150 miles of trails that make up this area, located on the western edge of the Shenandoah Valley.

Will you take action and tell our senators to protect this special place?

For years, Environment Colorado and our national network have been working to protect our public lands from mining, logging and development. Through our research, public education and organizing, we're working with our national network to urge decision-makers to protect 30% of our lands and oceans by 2030.

This bill would help us move one step closer to this goal by designating tens of thousands of acres of wilderness areas as the Shenandoah Mountain National Scenic Area.3

Will you stand with us to permanently protect this pristine landscape?

Contact our U.S. senators today and urge them to support the Shenandoah Mountain Act.

Thank you,

Rex Wilmouth
Senior Program Director
