Adam Schiff for Congress

John, the simple reason you’re still hearing about Trump’s handpicked Postmaster General Louis DeJoy continuing to run the Postal Service is because we haven’t had the votes to oust him.

The issue here was less the House or Senate, but on the USPS Board of Governors, where for months two seats were left unfilled as President Biden’s two nominees were stalled in the Senate’s glacial confirmation process.

Well, the Senate finally did something, and confirmed Biden’s two nominees to the Board of Governors, the only body with the authority to fire DeJoy. The vote wasn’t even controversial — we just had to wait six months for it to happen.

I know I don’t need to remind you, but we’re talking about a Postmaster General who:

  • Left his post as deputy finance chair of the RNC to take the job
  • Intentionally slowed the mail at the height of the 2020 election
  • Was the subject of an FBI investigation into a campaign finance scheme
  • Repeatedly violated conflicts of interest with USPS contracts and family businesses
  • And just pledged to increase mail prices at “an uncomfortable rate”

It’s almost like DeJoy, whose family business includes direct competitors with the Postal Service, is trying to ruin this institution from within.

So the Senate’s confirmations haven’t come a moment too soon. It’s time to fire DeJoy. Right now. Enough is enough.

Add your name to my petition demanding the USPS Board of Governors fire Trump’s handpicked Postmaster General Louis DeJoy. They must appoint a new Postmaster General who will work with President Biden and our Democratic majorities in Congress to improve the Postal Service for years to come.

ADD YOUR NAME

Unfortunately, this isn’t the last we’ll see of Louis DeJoy — but if we keep the pressure up, we can ensure we kick this Trump lackey out of the Postal Service for good.

Thanks, as always, for raising your voice.
