Need I remind you that Louis DeJoy didn’t just leave his job as a deputy finance chair of the Republican National Committee to take the job. Or that he intentionally slowed the mail and removed ballot drop boxes at the height of the pandemic and 2020 election. Or that he was the subject of an FBI investigation into an alleged campaign finance scheme where he compensated his company’s employees for donating to Republican candidates with kickbacks in the form of salary bonuses. That he has repeatedly violated conflicts of interest between USPS and his family business, one of their direct competitors. Or that he has inexplicably pushed for a new fleet of over 160,000 mail trucks that are gas-powered instead of electric vehicles. Not to mention that he recently vowed to increase mail prices for consumers at “an uncomfortable rate.” Yeah, it’s time for this Trump crony to go so we can get serious about improving the USPS for generations to come.
