Just like so many people... John, Just like so many people I’ve come to know across North Texas, my path to where I am now wasn’t easy. Overcoming challenges and impossible odds is what we Texans have always done because making sure we fight for the safety, freedom, and security of our families and nation is truly the highest calling! In 2011, I took on a corrupt city government and Mayor who was raking in million dollar donations for giving away land and tax dollars in our city. Despite being massively outspent, I became the City of Irving's FIRST female mayor. I immediately started working to improve economic opportunities and clean up the city’s backroom politics. After just six years, I helped bring in 40,000 new jobs, $3 billion in growth, passed term-limits for officeholders, and the city’s first ethics law. My years helping to strengthen the City of Irving was just the beginning. Soon after leaving office, I was appointed to be a Regional Administrator for the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. In this role, I worked under Secretary Ben Carson and oversaw many of the Trump Administrations' biggest economic achievements, and led HUD’s disaster recovery efforts after Hurricane Harvey. Throughout my time in service to the people of Texas, I have helped hundreds of small, medium, and large businesses achieve success. As a former small business owner myself, I know just how difficult Biden has made it to succeed in today’s economy. I chose to run for Congress because I knew my unwavering principles could make a difference for our nation and our families. I believe in the American Dream, and I know America cannot succeed without our conservative values at the heart of our government.
