Animal cruelty laws are facing a significant threat. The meat industry is still trying to overturn California's Proposition 12. This historic law, passed by an overwhelming majority of voters in 2018, restricts egregious cruelty by prohibiting some of the worst forms of factory farm confinement.

Agribusiness is desperately trying to overturn this law and has filed three separate lawsuits, one of which is now going to be heard by the Supreme Court of the United States. Besides threatening California's Prop 12, this case could undermine other important laws that address the climate crisis and that protect animals from terrible cruelties like wildlife trafficking. We need your help today to prevent the unraveling of the most basic humane protections.

The Trump Administration supported Big Ag in this case years ago, and the industry has used this support to bolster its case. It is critical for the Biden Administration to withdraw this support of factory farming and to know there’s overwhelming public support for humane laws.
