I am thankful for all of you, the love and the work you've put into making the world a better place. This Thanksgiving, two people who sacrificed their own freedom in order to make the world a better place are weighing on my mind. Thank you, Julian and Chelsea.
In the last EIGHT years, Mike Thompson has written only three bills that became law, and all of them renamed a post office. In that same period, he has refused to debate all challengers. He is a powerful man, but how is he using that power to help you? The cold and rain are upon us, and we have a sickening amount of people living on the street. And what is he doing about it? Not a damned thing. Mr. Thompson is a 70 year old vineyard owner worth millions. He's out of touch with what it's like to struggle. We need new representation. But I can't take him on without people like you. We have about 7 days to raise $250 for our filing fee. Our average donation is $22.55. We really just need 12 people to pitch in our average donation and we'll be set. Do you think you could pitch in $22?

My opponent has been consistently in favor of weakening environmental laws in order to allow more hunting, including allowing national parks to be paved, allowing lead bullets and weakening protections of animals such as elephants and polar bears. It might have something to do with the $30,000 he's taken from Safari Club International, a lobbyist group that lobbies for the deregulation of hunting laws. He's also voted to weaken the Clean Water Act. As a State Senator he co-wrote a bill to allow the trophy hunting of cougars and helped defeat a bill banning the use of dogs in bear hunting.

We have to stop exploiting our planet, and that includes hunting species to extinction and overfishing our seas. A wise man once told me "You're not a man until you can recognize how your actions affect others." Why can't we, as a species, recognize how our actions are harming our planet? Humans are driving our species, and others, off a cliff at full speed. Can you pitch in a few bucks to help me defeat someone who doesn't want to take his foot off the gas?
