Dear John,

Today is International Day for Biological Diversity. To mark it, we are
proud to launch our new biodiversity campaign, HUMANATURE. And we want you
to be involved!

Nature is under pressure from humans as never before. Human activity,
driven by population growth, is destroying the Earth’s biodiversity and
causing a sixth mass extinction.

Our HUMANATURE campaign emphasises that we must all see ourselves as an
integral part of nature, not separate from or superior to it. We depend on
nature and our lives are enriched by it. We can repay that debt by taking
action, locally, nationally and globally, to slow and end human population
growth and help protect our precious planet and the species we share it
with.

Your support will be vital in helping us to take forward our work, be it
our ongoing biodiversity actions or new initiatives. Read more on our
campaigns page.

CHECK OUT THE HUMANATURE CAMPAIGN [3]

We are launching our campaign by focusing on animals that are so often
neglected when it comes to conservation and the protection of the natural
world. Our_ Insect Populations Matter_ initiative recognises that insects
are crucial for all life on Earth, including us, but their populations are
in a terrifying decline across the world. Human-induced threats, such as
deforestation for agriculture, climate change and pollution, all driven by
human population growth, could spell disaster.

As individuals, we can make a difference - check out our _Insect
Populations Matter_ page for suggestions about what you can do where you
live to protect insects and help boost their numbers.

HELP PROTECT INSECTS [4]

Together, we can make a huge difference for nature!

Thanks for your ongoing support.

Best wishes,

Andrew Howard
