Congresswoman Lesko Weekly Update

Good Afternoon,

This week, I remained in Washington, D.C. for a series of votes in the U.S. House of Representatives! At the Republican Study Committee’s press conference, I spoke about my bill, the Women’s Bill of Rights, that I introduced to stand up for the rights of women and protect the spaces and policies designed to protect women. Watch my remarks below:

Did you know that more than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s? Our office was happy to meet with the Alzheimer's Association to discuss ways that Congress can help end this disease. 

I was happy to meet with the Arizona Petroleum Marketers Association to discuss the truck driver shortage, fuel prices, and issues affecting the convenience store industry.

It was a pleasure to meet with representatives from the Czech Republic and discuss energy issues.

I’m proud to introduce the Women’s Bill of Rights. Due to the Democrats' radical gender ideology, women's safety and roles in society are diminishing. Democrats are even trying to replace the word "mother" with "birthing people." It is absolute insanity! We must fight for women and their place in our society!

Lesko Launches the Protect Kids Caucus

I launched the Congressional Caucus to Protect Kids to protect children from the Democrats’ agenda of sexualizing our children in schools, health care, government programs, and online.

GET THE FACTS: Over 234,000 Migrants Were Apprehended at the Southern Border in April

In April, there were 234,088 migrant encounters at our southern border. This is the highest number in the Department of Homeland Security's history! In addition, this number doesn’t include the “gotaways.” Make no mistake—this is a direct result of the Biden Administration refusing to enforce our nation’s immigration laws. Immigration enforcement is law enforcement. By not enforcing our nation’s immigration laws, the Biden Administration is conveying that they do not respect the laws of our nation. 

Congressional Art Competition Winners

I’m proud to announce this year’s Congressional Art Competition first place winner, Janeessa Rona! Her artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol!

Congratulations to our second place winner for this year’s Congressional Art Competition, Karl Kang! Karl’s artwork will be displayed in my Washington, D.C. Office.

Congratulations to the third place winner for this year’s Congressional Art Competition, Janielle Diaz! Janielle’s artwork will be displayed in my Surprise District Office.

Around the District 

Monica from our office attended the Pacific Island Heritage Celebration at Chase Field hosted by the Diamondbacks in partnership with the NABEDC. The NABEDC assists Native Americans, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians, as well as minority business enterprises.

Monica from our office presented the Litchfield Park Historical Society with a Congressional Recognition for their work in preserving the history of the Southwest Valley for the community’s present and future generations.

 

Austin from our office presented a Congressional Recognition to the Sun City Historical Society for their work in preserving Sun City and Sun City West’s history for current and future residents.

Monica from our office attended the grand opening for HONORHEALTH in Surprise, AZ.

Austin from our office enjoyed doing a ride along with the Sun City West Posse. He also learned more about all they do to serve the community. 

Monica from our office attended the Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce’s annual meeting to learn more about all that they are doing to support their community’s businesses and local economy.

Casework Highlight

A constituent who serves in the Army Reserves reached out for assistance in processing owed travel pay that the Army was not correctly processing. After reaching out to the Department of the Army, we were able to identify the error and get the soldier's travel money paid to them.

Encouraging Story

I am pleased to share this story about health care workers from Valleywise Health coming together to give out boxes of food to those in need. The health care workers handed out hundreds of food boxes. Our health care workers do so much for the American people, and we cannot thank them enough for all they do daily for us.
