Americans are being exploited right now by Big Oil. Some oil companies have taken advantage of this time of international unrest and deliberately hiked their prices, hitting millions of consumers' pocketbooks hard.

Democrats like LBR are determined to fix this. On Thursday, she joined her colleagues to help pass the Consumer Fuel Price Gouging Prevention Act out of the House.

This legislation empowers the President to stop unfair price hikes during emergencies. And it expands the Federal Trade Commission's authority to investigate price gouging by corporate giants.

Now, we need to get this bill through the Senate and to President Biden's desk. It won't be easy, as Big Oil's Republican allies on Capitol Hill will fight hard against it. Not a single House Republican supported the bill, and you can be sure that Senate Republicans oppose it even further.
