Dear John,
I hope I can bring you a little joy in these distressing times.
I was lucky enough to join forces with Hugh Jackman to tackle inequality on the upcoming season finale of The Simpsons!
Now, I can’t carry a tune in a bucket, but I’m so grateful for the chance to sing with Hugh and educate the masses about the demise of the American middle class, and a system rigged for the super-rich. I’m equally as grateful to all of you, whose steadfast support over the years has helped get our ideas about inequality and imbalances of power into the mainstream.
Here’s a sneak peek:
For a little over 30 years, Homer Simpson has supported his family of five on a single income union job with only a high school education. That life is no longer attainable, thanks to decades of declining union power, rampant corporate greed, and the rise of short-sighted politics. Today, the life that Homer Simpson lives is only a pipe dream for millions of Americans.
If it’s of any interest to you to hear Hugh and I take on this systemic inequality through song and dance, please tune in this Sunday at 8pm ET/7pm CT/8pm PT!
Thanks for watching,
Robert Reich
