Happy Thanksgiving! Wherever you’re celebrating, I hope it is a special day filled with delicious food and quality time with those you love.

As I’m sure you can imagine, it’s been a hectic few months since launching this campaign. I find days like today particularly restorative -- a chance to sit down and reflect on what I’m most thankful for as 2019 comes to a close:

Today, I’m thankful for all those who answer the call to serve. That includes our first responders, servicemembers, veterans, and military families who sacrifice so much to protect this country. It also includes those who serve in their communities, in education, through non-profits and works of faith, to name a few.

I’m thankful for this country and the values it represents: liberty, democracy, and equality before the law. We are far from perfect. But I’m grateful for the energy I see around me every day, as we work to address our imperfections on race, on poverty, on equality, on fairness, and on opportunity. I’m encouraged by the number of folks I meet who have lived up to the call to be our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers. When we work together, I’m confident in our ability to bring about the change we seek.

And of course, I’m thankful for folks like you reading this message. Whether you’ve attended an event, chipped in a few dollars, followed our campaign on social media, or reached out with a word of encouragement, your support means so much to me. It keeps me going, even on long days.

I’m so excited about the opportunity ahead of us in 2020, and looking forward to working together to put this Senate seat back to work for all of us.
