This Thanksgiving, we have a lot to be thankful for. Number one on our list? OLCV members like you!
When climate legislation was abandoned, and our democracy was threatened, OLCV members joined together and fought back. Over 4,500 activists signed our climate petition, and gathered in support of climate action. Throughout the session, almost 7,000 of you sent letters to legislators about Clean Energy Jobs, and many of you published op-eds and LTE’s in local newspapers. Because of all this hard work, 2020 is already shaping up to be a big year, with Clean Energy Jobs and three climate ballot measures on the table.
Together, we’re stronger and more determined than ever before. Our activist community is growing, from parents concerned about their kids’ future, to students worried about the world they’re inheriting; from farmers trying to save their crops from drought, to firefighters working to prevent extreme wildfires; from local business owners who want to transition to solar panels, to engineers who know that clean energy is, without a doubt, the future.
Together, we form a community of people who care about the next generation, the natural world, and Oregon’s future, and we’re so thankful to have you on board.
We hope you and your loved ones have a wonderful holiday, and that you get out there to connect with nature and explore. Oregon is a beautiful place, and there’s so much to be thankful for. The crystal clear waters of the McKenzie River, and Waldo Lake; the wild, wolf-roamed peaks of the Wallowas, and the Cascades; the sagebrush expanses where the milky way still glimmers at night; the secret waterfalls running down volcanic rock, along beds of moss and fern.
