Celebrate increases in COVID-19 vaccination rates all over the worldWhen the plane carrying the first COVID-19 vaccines supplied by COVAX touched down in Bangladesh’s capital, Dhaka, in June 2021, less than 4 percent of the country’s adults were fully vaccinated. By the beginning of April 2022, 67 percent of the population had received two doses.
Success stories of dramatic increases in vaccination rates have been happening worldwide. This is largely due to volunteers who have stopped at nothing to reach people with limited or no access to a mobile phone or internet who had previously struggled with the online vaccination sign up process.
