After six years of advocacy, he successfully expanded the Child Tax Credit last year to deliver tax cuts that benefited 96% of Colorado families with kids. But after six months of helping parents pay for their food, utility bills, child care expenses, and more, obstructionists in Congress let the tax cut expire.

Now, the evidence is clear. This tax cut kept nearly 4 million children out of poverty after parents in Colorado and nationwide used their tax credit to feed their kids and keep roofs over their heads. Michael has heard from parents that benefited from the Child Tax Credit expansion, and their stories inspire him to continue the fight to make it permanent.
