Team,

103 years ago today, the House passed the 19th amendment that granted women the right to vote. This was a huge step forward for equality in our country – but not for every person.

It wasn't until the Voting Rights Act of 1965 that the right to vote was secured for Black, brown, and Indigenous Americans. And to this day, the fight for access to the ballot box for all continues.

Over the last few years, we've seen an uptick in attacks on the right to vote as Republicans in state legislatures across the country have introduced a record-breaking number of voter suppression bills. Republicans are trying to make it harder to vote in order to win elections. This is undemocratic and unfair.

Here in Rhode Island, we're taking action to protect the right to vote for every Rhode Islander. The state House recently passed the Let RI Vote Act which would expand voter access while ensuring election integrity.

Seth knows that our democracy only works when people can make their voices heard and elect leaders who will fight for them. That's why he's ready to stand up for voting rights in Congress and support legislation that will protect access to the ballot box for every American.
