Cost of living

Having heard from constituents with concerns about the cost of living and rising energy prices, I ** met with two local branches ([link removed])
of Citizens Advice, Elmbridge West and Esher, to learn from their experiences on the ground.

We discussed what the government is doing to help local families. This includes over £22 billion of immediate support for families over 2022-23.

I work closely with the CAB to support constituents on a wide range of issues and am always available to help constituents in any way I can.

As ever, if you are a constituent in need of my help, please do not hesitate to write to me at [email protected]

Queen's Speech 2022
This month saw the State Opening of Parliament delivered by HRH The Prince of Wales.

The government has set out a programme of important legislation, with Bills on everything from planning and rail travel, to social housing and business rates reform.

As your Member of Parliament, I look forward to representing the views of constituents across Esher and Walton constituency and ensuring that we secure our fair share of benefits from the announcements made.

Rail Survey
There is still time to fill out my rail survey. I will be meeting with South Western Railway to present the results of this survey and demonstrate local demand for:

* The extension of Zone 6 to Hinchley Wood, Oxshott, Cobham & Stoke D'Abernon, Esher, Hersham, Claygate, Walton-on-Thames stations;

* Improvements to station infrastructure and accessibility; and

* Increased capacity and more carriages on services to prevent overcrowding.

In the constituency

Drop-in surgeries

I hold regular drop-in surgeries in cafes, restaurants and shopping centres across the constituency.

These sessions are a great way for people to meet with me and for me to take constituents' questions on a range of local and national issues.

Thank you to everyone who has dropped by to chat with me so far.

Working with the community

* Every week, I visit groups and organisations across the constituency to hear what they are doing for their communities and to help in any way I can.

* At the start of May, I ** dropped by West Molesey ([link removed])
to hear from local parents about the condition of two playgrounds in Molesey and support their campaign for better play equipment. I will be making the case for improvements to Elmbridge Borough Council on behalf of residents.

* On a recent ** visit to St Andrew's Church in Oxshott ([link removed])
, I spoke with the Vicar at St Andrew's - Frances Trickey - and volunteers about the church's plans for expansion and their efforts to become a focal point for the Oxshott community.

If you are involved in a local project that you would like me to hear about, or know of a local group that might need some support, please drop me a line at [email protected]
