Friend – have you seen this headline? In case you missed it, here’s a quick recap of the Trump-era “Remain in Mexico” policy:

  1. The Trump-era The Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP), often referred to as the “Remain in Mexico” policy, subjects asylum-seekers to dangerous conditions in Mexico while they await court dates in the U.S., which can take months or years.

  2. This cruel policy has put tens of thousands of people in grave danger and violated their right to apply for asylum in the United States.

  3. In August, the Supreme Court refused to block a lower court order resuming "Remain in Mexico,” and the Biden administration has not put forward a plan to end this policy for good.

  4. Just last month, the Supreme Court heard arguments on whether the Biden administration can end “Remain in Mexico.”

As we await the Supreme Court’s decision, a reminder that “Remain in Mexico” is a vicious attempt to shut down our asylum system and deter people seeking safety. To protect migrants at our border and restore our asylum system: we must do away with Trump’s gamut of anti-asylum policies for good.

Do you agree, Friend? Should the “Remain in Mexico” policy end?

Thanks for voicing your opinion on this,
