Thank you for being such an important part of our campaign for U.S. Senate. We’ve already received endorsements from a number of elected officials, community leaders, grassroots activists, and EMILY’s List. I’m grateful to have every single one of them.
Today, I’m asking for our most important endorsement yet — yours. Will you add your name and personally endorse my campaign for the United States Senate in Wisconsin? It’s going to take an unprecedented amount of support from real people just like you to defeat Ron Johnson and flip this seat, so your endorsement right now would mean a lot. Let me tell you a little bit about why I'm running for U.S. Senate. I'm a fifth-generation Wisconsinite from Eau Claire, State Treasurer, working mom, daughter of two public school teachers, and the product of a proud union home. Quite frankly, I couldn’t be more different than Ron Johnson. Before I first ran for public office, I led a bipartisan grassroots campaign to prevent former Governor Scott Walker from eliminating the State Treasurer’s office — a critical check and balance on our government. We stopped his power grab with 62% of the statewide vote, which is a landslide victory in Wisconsin. Then, I ran for the office I worked so hard to save and won my second statewide election by a larger margin than the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General — flipping nine Trump counties, including Ron Johnson’s own county. As Treasurer, I've focused on finding commonsense solutions for working families. I lifted a GOP gag order on climate change, provided millions of dollars in relief to public schools during the pandemic, and partnered with Governor Tony Evers to secure $92.7 million from the American Rescue Plan for people at risk of losing their homes. Most recently, I’ve been working on a bipartisan bill that would create retirement-like savings accounts for every child in Wisconsin. Look, I didn’t get into public service for fame, money, or power. I got in the fight because too many politicians weren’t lifting a finger to help struggling families and small businesses. Wisconsinites deserved to have someone fighting for their best interests, so I stepped up. Now I'm stepping up again to run for U.S. Senate and work to lower everyday costs for families, protect our democracy, defend reproductive freedom, bring down prescription drug costs, expand affordable childcare — and end the filibuster if that’s what it takes to get it all done. In the Senate, I’ll continue to be an advocate for working families, but in order to do that, I need to know you’re with me. We are building a campaign strong enough to take on Ron Johnson and flip this Senate seat, and it’s only going to be possible with you on our team. So, I'm sincerely asking: Would you consider personally endorsing my campaign for U.S. Senate today? I’m proud of what we're building and you should be, too. That’s why I’m hoping you will add your name and join our broad coalition of grassroots supporters who have already signed up to say they’re with us. It may seem small, but please know that simply adding your name to say you support our campaign for the U.S. Senate can make a big difference in this race. Taking on Ron Johnson won’t be easy — we'll need a LOT of people coming together to win. Thank you in advance for adding your name to our growing list of personal endorsers. It really makes a difference for our campaign. Forward! — Sarah Godlewski
