Africa & Europe
Please pray for our Ghana legal team this week as they have several cases in court and are preparing witnesses to make statements. Pray for good strategy and for the hearings to move forward without delay. Frequent delays and postponements are very difficult for victims and other witnesses in the case, both emotionally and because of the time spent preparing and traveling to court.
Latin America
Join us in praying for IJM’s lawyers and survivors in the Dominican Republic for hearings that will occur in the next three months. We are expecting convictions to be ruled in two hearings planned to take place this quarter. Pray for courts to rule with justice, and pray for the survivors and lawyers to be girded with faith and wisdom as they prepare for the court proceedings.
South Asia
Please pray for IJM’s leaders in South Asia who are gathering for strategy sessions and team building. We have joyfully promoted many staff to new leadership roles, so we want this to be a sweet time of bonding and building together. Pray for good health, safe travels, productive planning and great connections amongst all of our leaders as they strategize on how to end forced labor and trafficking in South Asia.
Southeast Asia
Praise God that a French sex offender was sentenced to 15 years in prison for online sexual exploitation! The French perpetrator sexually abused a nine-year-old Filipino girl in person and livestreamed her abuse on the dark web. The survivor bravely testified through videoconferencing from the French Embassy in Manila with the assistance of an IJM Philippines attorney. Please pray for peace and healing for the survivor after recounting the abuse that happened to her.
