The state of reproductive freedom and abortion care is heading towards
chaos.

Ever since the leak of the draft Supreme Court opinion, progressives have
been mobilized like never before. This has the potential to mark a turning
point in our nation’s history one that could either spell short-term
disaster for the future of choice, or one that results in one of the
greatest mass mobilizations and voter turnout periods in modern history –
to protect and codify Roe into federal law.

With the Supreme Court poised to issue a deeply unpopular opinion to
overturn Roe v. Wade, we need people speaking up and speaking out about
their support for abortion care and reproductive freedom.

Make no mistake, the Far Right will do everything possible to expand their
numbers in Congress and pass a nationwide abortion ban if Roe is
overturned. At the state level, far-right legislatures are already rushing
to pass extreme abortion bans that leave little to no exceptions for
abortion care and would go so far as to punish anyone who assists in
someone receiving the care they need!

We must grow the progressive Democratic majorities in both chambers so
that we can continue pushing for a federal law protecting access to
abortion care. To do so means challenging candidates across the political
spectrum to take a clear stance when it comes to abortion care and get
them on the record about whether they support choice.
