This week, former President Donald Trump called on his Senate pick Dr. Oz to declare victory in the Pennsylvania Republican primary, even before all the votes were counted. In the Pennsylvania Governor's primary, Republicans nominated an extremist who was at the January 6th insurrection and claims to have talked to Trump about overturning the 2020 election.
On top of that, thousands of text messages from Donald Trump's top aide leading up to the January 6th insurrection paint a damning picture of an unconstitutional conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election.
The Republican playbook this year is a carbon copy of 2020. And it's clearer than ever that Trump and MAGA Republicans will do whatever it takes to rig elections and undermine our democracy.
In the aftermath of the 2020 election and the January 6 insurrection, our institutions held strong. But make no mistake: Our democracy is still at risk. Every day, we learn more and more about the plot to overturn Joe Biden's election and keep Trump in power. And too many Republican candidates are still pushing the Big Lie.
It's going to take each and every one of us standing up to protect our democracy.
