John,
When I first ran for Congress in 2018 – flipping this seat blue for the first time in 50 years – I spoke often of a letter my parents wrote to my sisters and me to celebrate the new year 2000.
In it, they wrote out lessons for their daughters. One of which has been a driving message throughout my life –
“There is no greater vocation than service to your country.”
These words have been foundational throughout my adult life and inform so much of my work in Congress. You see, at the CIA, I served our country collecting solid intelligence. And in Congress, I do it by working for my constituents, and I’ve prioritized results.
As one of the most bipartisan members of Congress, I know we deliver for our community when we work together. With that philosophy in mind, I’ve helped pass the bipartisan infrastructure package which will invest in clean, renewable energy and expand broadband internet access to those who need it most.
I’ve also led the bipartisan charge to ban stock trading by members of Congress and their spouses – removing even the perception of possible impropriety and reinforcing the standard that representatives serve their constituents, not their portfolios.
I can’t wait to see what more we can accomplish together, and to continue my work I need your support. We’re facing yet another close election this fall, will you contribute to our campaign today?
