Today, the Kansas Supreme Court upheld Kansas Republicans' gerrymandered Ad Astra 2 map. The map that splits apart Wyandotte County, dilutes minority voting strength, and dumps Lawrence into the Big First, is now set in stone for the next decade..

KDP Chairwoman Vicki Hiatt released the following statement:

"The seriousness of this decision cannot be understated: this ruling opens the floodgates for even worse political gerrymandering in Kansas for decades to come. This news makes the work Kansas Democrats are doing now even more essential. While many Kansans are devastated by this ruling, we will not stop advocating and fighting for voters to choose their politicians. We encourage every Kansan to get out and vote in this critical election year and support leaders who will respect and protect fair representation.”
