The Week in Review
Happy Friday!
I spent most of my week in Washington D.C. as the House was back in session. It was a busy week, so I hope you’ll read below to learn about the important happenings:
Biden’s Border Crisis Sets New Record, Expected to Get Even Worse After Title 42 Lifted Next Week
Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse at the southern border, they just did. The Biden Administration just released data for April, revealing that CBP encountered more than 234,000 illegal aliens at the border--the largest total for a month in U.S. history. To put this figure in better perspective, this is like having the entire population of Gilbert show up at the southern border in one month.
These figures do not account for “gotaways” or individuals who enter the country illegally, but immigration authorities do not have the bandwidth or resources to apprehend them. I estimate that this figure ranged between 70,000 and 80,000 in April.
Even worse, the Biden Administration is set to lift the Title 42 public health order at the southern border next week, on May 23. This order allows immigration authorities to quickly expel illegal aliens from the country and serves as one of the last lines of defense against a massive wave of illegal migration.
I will be traveling to the border next week to survey the impact of Title 42. I will also meet with local and state officials to discuss the impacts of Biden’s Border Crisis and solutions to address the crisis. Stay tuned for updates on my social media and next week’s newsletter. Check out my latest video below on the state of the border by clicking the image below:
House Judiciary Hearing on the Left’s Pro-Abortion Agenda
This week, I participated in a House Judiciary Committee hearing on the Left’s pro-abortion agenda. My Republican colleagues and I discussed why Congress must continue to uphold the sanctity of life, how Democrats are attempting to intimate the Supreme Court as it considers overturning Roe v. Wade, and the radical views Democrats have on abortion.
Check out my testimony below by clicking on the image.
If you would like to see just how radical the Left is on this issue, watch this clip.
The full hearing can be viewed here.
National Police Appreciation Week Concludes
This week we honored law enforcement by celebrating National Police Week. We should all always remember the hard work of our law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line to keep our communities, towns, and cities safe.
As part of my appreciation for these officers, I sent President Biden a letter urging him to light the White House blue on May 15, 2022, for Peace Officers Memorial Day. Unfortunately, President Biden did not comply with my request. The letter may be read here.
I highlighted the efforts and brave stories of fallen law enforcement officials from Arizona's Fifth District in the congressional record.

Definition of the Week
This week, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) paused its Disinformation Governance Board, or what I call the “Ministry of Truth.” The board’s head, Nina Jankowicz, also resigned.
This Orwellian-esque board should have never been created in the first place. Why DHS picked a radical Leftist like Ms. Jankowicz to lead the board remains unclear. But what is clear is that Biden’s DHS is not serious about protecting our homeland from legitimate threats like the current invasion at our southern border.
It’s refreshing to see Americans stand up and call out this dangerous board. I appreciate all of you holding this board and Ms. Jankowicz accountable.
Courtesy of Michael Knowles’ Speechless, here’s what we think is the latest definition:
Disinformation Governance Board: A three-week Joe Biden project that attempted to mimic characters from George Orwell’s book, 1984.
