Team,
The world’s leading tech companies were founded in the U.S., serving as another example of American ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit.
But these companies aren’t start-ups anymore. Today, they’re among the most powerful entities in our society. Big Tech has incredible influence over our economy, society, and democracy — and it’s time that we provide a common-sense approach to ensure these companies play by the rules, for the public good.
That’s why I introduced the Digital Platform Commission Act, the first-ever legislation in Congress that would establish a body to provide comprehensive regulation of digital platforms to protect users like you and promote competition.
Developing oversight for Big Tech is especially important right now, as we can already see its outsized influence on teen mental health, the spread of misinformation, and unfair practices that hurt small businesses.
This legislation follows a long history of creating regulatory bodies to oversee critical new components of our society — from the creation of the Federal Communications Commission in 1934 to the creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis.
Team, this legislation could make me a target of Big Tech, but I don’t take a penny from corporate PACs and federal lobbyists. So if you can, I’m personally asking you to pitch in whatever you can to help defend my seat so I can keep delivering for Coloradans.

Big Tech could come after me, but right now, I’m facing attacks from the National GOP. This cycle alone, the GOP arm working to flip the Senate raised over $150 million to flip seats like mine and the Republican National Committee is putting GOP operatives on the ground in Colorado.
So if you can, please donate $10 — or what works for you — to keep Colorado blue and defend our slim Senate majority so I can keep up my fight in the Senate for hardworking families across the country.
