Team MLG Update

Hey, John! Gov. Lujan Grisham is putting her nose to the grindstone to build a brighter future for New Mexico – and we're excited to share a few updates with you about what she's been working on.

Wildfires

Gov. Lujan Grisham is quickly working to keep New Mexicans safe as we address one of the worst wildfire seasons our state has ever seen. Together with the Biden administration, the Governor has enlisted the help of FEMA – and she's ensured that federal disaster unemployment assistance is available to those impacted.

If you'd like to help New Mexicans rebuild communities damaged by wildfires, please consider making a charitable contribution to the All Together New Mexico Fund. [link removed]

Free Child Care

New Mexico just became the first state to make child care free for most families. Gov. Lujan Grisham just announced her family-focused initiatives, which includes free child care, $10 million to create more child care centers, and a special program to help child care workers pursue higher education. With these policies in place, parents won't have to worry about who is going to watch their children as they work to put food on the table.

Anti-Choice Attacks

The Supreme Court's draft opinion indicated that it would overturn Roe v. Wade, and the GOP is doubling down on its anti-abortion stance in neighboring states. Texas has already banned nearly all abortions – and Arizona, Oklahoma and Utah all have laws in place that would trigger near-total bans on abortion once the Supreme Court's decision is finalized.

New Mexico is about to become a safe haven for reproductive freedom, so it's more important than ever to keep Gov. Lujan Grisham in office to safeguard our right to make decisions about our own bodies. Follow this link to read the Governor's statement on protecting reproductive freedom. [link removed]
