Dear Jack, |
As California contends with increased forest fires, deepening drought, warmer temperatures, and continued loss of habitat and biodiversity, we need to make the kinds of significant investments that will safeguard redwood forests and other natural treasures into the future. That's why Save the Redwoods League enthusiastically supports the comprehensive $18 billion climate package included in the Putting Wealth to Work Senate Budget Plan, which includes significant conservation funding.
Because your representative(s) sits on a budget committee making important decisions in the coming weeks, your input can make a real difference in whether California makes these vital investments.
Please take a moment now to send a note supporting the Senate Budget Plan.
The Putting Wealth to Work Senate Budget Plan includes more than $6 billion over five years for wildfire resilience, including critical funding for fuels reduction, state conservancies, and workforce development. There is also substantial funding to help the state reach its goal of conserving 30% of lands and coastal waters by 2030, and funding to support outdoor access and equity programs.
California has an unprecedented opportunity to address the issues of wildfire, climate, and biodiversity loss. Please ask your state representative to support the essential investments to provide a safer present and more sustainable future for California. |

Sincerely,
Save the Redwoods League |
